Interim Executive Leadership

Alicia is highly skilled and qualified to provide interim leadership services. She is a member of Intentional Interim Executive Director Services and completed the Interim Executives Academy Program with Third Sector Company. Immediately stepping in to stabilize the organization, partner with the Board to establish a transition plan, provide support to staff, keep revenue streams on track, help determine the search profile for a new Executive Director, CEO or Director, and guide the onboarding of new leadership. When leadership change occurs, especially unexpectedly, an organization risks losing the confidence of its stakeholders, including funders, board, partners, the people served, and even the remaining staff. Immediately bringing in an experienced leader to keep the organization focused and on track demonstrates to the stakeholders that the organization has a strategy and is prepared for the change. With an interim leader in place, who is not interested in pursuing the position long-term, allows a more candid  perspective to be shared about what is needed in a future leader.  It also prevents the organization from needing to burden the current staff from having to try and do the job of two people when assigned as an interim.

New Executive Leadership Coaching

Provide coaching to support the success of new Executive Directors, CEOs and Directors with guidance, resources and strategy development. Starting any new leadership role is both exciting and daunting at times, especially as the Executive Director. Coaching provides you with an experienced professional who has been in the same seat as you. With a coach, you will have the support to start you on the right path to success from the beginning. Together, you and your coach will determine your unique path and coaching objectives on your professional journey to success as a new Executive Director.  The coach will share the resources, perspectives, and strategies gained from years of experience in nonprofit management to support your leadership journey.

Organizational Development

Work with the organizational leaders, board, staff, partners and communities served to develop the internal capacity to be the most effective it can be in its mission work and to sustain itself over the long term.  Guides organizations from their current state to their desired state/vision. This process begins with gathering  information to identify the problem that is keeping your nonprofit organization from reaching its full potential. Once information is gathered and understood, a planning strategy for change management will occur. There will then be the implementation of changes followed by an evaluation of how effective the changes were to improve organizational effectiveness.

Program Development and Evaluation

Conduct a needs assessment, create a program plan, pilot the program, adjust for improvements and train staff to successfully deliver. Oftentimes, organizations hire a program staff person to develop a program model and then expect the same person to run the program.  Organizations may also expect current staff to develop a new program on top of their current responsibilities. The skill set needed for program development and program delivery are vastly different. By bringing in a consultant to get the job done quickly and efficiently, leadership sets up the program staff for success. In evaluating programs, it is best practice to have external evaluators conduct an unbiased review of programs. Bring in an external and experienced evaluator to conduct program evaluations on existing programs to get the best, unbiased perspective of programs.
